Is NexTools Split PDF really free?
Yes. Free users can split up to 3 PDFs per day with no account required. Pro and credit users get unlimited splits. No watermarks are added to any output file.
How do custom page ranges work?
Enter ranges as comma-separated values: 1-3, 5, 7-10. Each entry becomes one output PDF. So "1-3, 5, 7-10" creates 3 PDFs: one with pages 1–3, one with just page 5, and one with pages 7–10.
What happens to my files after splitting?
Files are processed in server memory and never written to disk or cloud storage. Once your ZIP is generated and sent, the data is gone. We don't store or analyze your PDFs.
What's the maximum file size?
Up to 20MB per PDF file. For most documents this is more than enough — a 20MB PDF is typically hundreds of pages long.
Can I split a password-protected PDF?
NexTools attempts to process encrypted PDFs, but password-protected files where content is locked will fail. Remove the password first using a PDF editor, then split with NexTools.
Does this work on mobile?
